NeuroTrauma 2018 Trainee Poster Competition Awards

To encourage presentation of high-quality basic science and clinical research at the NeuroTrauma 2018 Symposium, six awards will be offered for the top Trainee Poster Competition finalists with the highest onsite judging scores. All Student Competition finalists will be recognized during the Awards Ceremony.

The Trainee Poster Competition winners will receive:

  • An engraved art glass award
  • USD 500 cash award from NeuroTrauma 2018
  • A one-year subscription to the Journal of Developmental Neuroscience, published by Karger

Abstracts selected for presentation (either oral or poster) will be published in the Journal of Neurotrauma. Judging will occur during the first Poster Session on Monday. Awards will be presented at the Awards Ceremony Dinner on Wednesday evening.

AANS/CNS Poster Awards

  • Cranial Trauma Award
  • Spinal Trauma Award

To encourage presentation of high-quality clinical research at NeuroTrauma 2018 Symposium, two awards will be offered for clinical research presented by a medical student, resident, fellow, or early-career attending within 3 years of completion of their residency.

The recipient must be a member of either the AANS or CNS. If the recipient is a medical student, resident, or fellow their research mentor must also be a member of either the AANS or CNS. One award will be given for cranial trauma and one for either spine or peripheral nerve trauma, however, the judges reserve the right to issue both awards in either category. The USD 1000 cash awards will honor outstanding abstracts presented as either oral posters or exhibited posters at the meeting judged on the basis of scientific merit, clinical relevance, and innovation.

European Brain Injury Consortium Poster Awards

The European Brain Injury Consortium has sponsored two poster awards for NeuroTrauma 2018

  • USD 500 will be awarded to a PhD student submission
  • USD 500 will be awarded to a postdoc submission

Best Oral Presentation

Sir Graham Teasdale Award

This award will be given to the best talk on original research that takes place at NeuroTrauma 2018. The European Brain Injury Consortium has sponsored USD 1000 for the Sir Graham Teasdale Award.
